Make Your Own Casserole Sauce MixCasseroles and cream soups go together. They are great on homegrown vegetables fresh from the garden, jar or freezer. But the more we read the labels, and if you're into watching sodium in your diet and economics, there has to be an alternative.

Sweet Pepper SalsaMakes about 7 half-pints or 3 quarts. You can change the peppers to be a mixture of red and green, or all of one kind. But don't change the amount of tomatoes or vinegar.

Evan's Animal Birthday CakeI didn't want to do a commercial cartoon party theme for my son's second birthday, so since he loves animals, I chose that as the theme. This is the birthday cake that our friend Erin made for my son. It was adorable! She used frosting to decorate animal crackers with details (stripes on the tigers, etc.), and pretzel rods with green frosting on top as palm trees. It was a great party, and everyone loved the cake.

Lilies in JulyThis is a lily that I bought 2 years ago. I don't remember the name of it, but it grows really well here in Louisiana. I have separated it often, sharing it with family and friends and planting in other flower beds in the yard. I took this picture at night of the flowers on one stalk.

Reusing Disposable Bath WashclothsIf you use the new disposable baby bath washcloths or mitts, why not recycle them instead of throwing them away? They're usually sturdy enough to rinse out. Spray a little of your favorite cleaning solution on them, then use to wipe down the tub and shower area, or even the counters, sink, or whatever you want to clean.

Menu Assignment Dinner Party IdeaInvite some of your good friends over for a casual dinner. Upon their arrival, pair them up and give each couple an envelope with some money and their assignment (i.e. "buy the ingredients for a dessert, then come back and prepare it.") You might assign appetizers to everyone, taco fixings or menu categories (vegetables, salad, rolls, dessert or even beverages). The hostess would prepare the main course.

Aftershave Odor on Headphones?I bought a used pair of professional headphones which work fine, but they smell like the previous owner's aftershave. I ordered new earpiece cushions but the odor remains on the plastic (vinyl?) strap that fits on top of my head. I tried cleaning with dish detergent and rubbing alcohol, no success thus far.

Do I Have Dandruff?I have always had kind of oily hair. I wash it everyday. If I don't wash it everyday I get what feels like little bumps in the back part of my hair but when I scratch them off it's flakes that are stuck to my head. What could be doing this? Is it dandruff or could it just be dry scalp? What could I do about it?

Book About a Boy Who Became a Cat?I would love to find a novel written before 1960 about a boy who became a cat. The boy's name is Peter, he desperately wants a cat, chases one into the street, has an accident, and wakes up as a cat. He is befriended by a female cat named Jenny who teaches him all about being a cat. They go on board a ship and have all sorts of adventures.

Lemon Juice Stain on Linen Slacks? How do I remove lemon juice stains from linen slacks that have to be dry-cleaned? They had a red stain, not sure but maybe Jello. Lemon juice removed the red stain. However, now I have yellow blotches. I took them to the dry cleaners and they tried but the yellowing is still there.
