Fried Green Tomatoes
This is such an easy dish to prepare. We make it at least two times during the growing season, when we really need to have a way to use up green tomatoes.

Homemade "Instant" Oats
Steel cut oats or Groats are the only type of oats that actually reduce cholesterol and lower triglycerides according to a study published last year. That is due to the fact that the bran is still intact.

Chocolate Pots De Creme
My Aunt was a great cook. We all loved her desserts as well as her Thanksgiving dinners and home made waffles, strawberry jam, and apple butter - just to name a few favorites from my childhood.

Homemade Mayonnaise
Homemade mayonnaise is so much better than store-bought! It's very easy, too, since the blender does all the work. You just have to have a fairly steady hand and drizzle the oil in slowly.

Rhubarb Crisp
This is an easy recipe. It tastes good, and you can modify to your taste. Rhubarb is actually a perennial vegetable, not a fruit. Most people are not aware of this, so you can have some fun with it.

Amy Onions
This is a really refreshing simple treat for summer. We make lots of these when camping, and they always go fast. There's no set amount of ingredients to buy so you can make as many or as few as you like.

Classic Boiled Custard Pudding
This is the easiest "made from scratch" custard-pudding I know how to make. I like it, because I don't have to "temper" egg yolks prior to mixing them in with the other ingredients.

Cucumber and Watermelon Salad
I've seen oodles of assorted recipes for cucumber and watermelon salads online, but here's what I came up with. The combinations of ingredients sound strange, but they are a wonderful blend of flavors.

A great way to use your summer garden produce. I cut this recipe out of some newspaper years ago and just recently found it again in my recipes. Tried it last summer and it was delicious.

Haven't made this yet, but sounds like a great combo for next fall, when family want both pumpkin and pecan pies.

You can also finish with a topping of some fresh finely shredded Parmesan cheese before baking too ;-)
