Caramel Apples

This is a favorite of mine since childhood! Great fall snack or treat!

Ingredients:

  • 49 caramels (14 oz. bag)
  • 2 Tbsp. water
  • 4-5 medium apples, washed and dried
  • Advertisement

  • wooden sticks

Directions:

Melt caramels with water in top of double boiler or in a saucepan over low heat. Stir occasionally until sauce is smooth. Insert a wooden stick into stem end of each apple. Dip into hot caramel sauce, and turn until coated. Scrape off excess sauce from bottom of apples. Place on greased wax paper; chill until firm.
