Name of Area Designated for Wildlife Protection
What do you call an area designated for the protection of wild animals, within which hunting and fishing are either prohibited or strictly controlled?
This picture was taken in London Ontario. I am trying to determine if it is a hawk or a falcon. (I think Falcon)
My grandson found a mole that is about 3 inches in length, but has no fur. We know what you feed a full grown mole, but how do we know if this is a small one or an older one?
We live on a golf course, and a few weeks ago a duck laid its eggs in a neighbor's empty clay flower pot filled with some dirt on her front porch. She has been sitting on them, but today it rained all afternoon, and when we went over to check, the eggs were floating in water in the pot.

Mother Duck Has Abandoned Her Nest

Attracting Squirrels to My Yard
How can I attract squirrels to my yard? Most of my foliage is down by the river at the far end of my 3/4-acre property. For the 2 years I've been here I've been adding small bushes and trees closer to the house. I do have 2 large trees closer to that.
There used to be a goose that sat in the bushes all the time on a nest. Well the other day I was walking my dogs and I looked and saw blood and feathers dragged across the snow and the mom was gone.
Can I safely move a mallard hen's eggs to another location and will she continue to sit on them?
I have 2 old bags of popping corn. Can I feed it to my squirrels?
Why are insects an important biological resource?
Has anyone seen an all white deer? I spotted one in the woods by my house and I still can't believe it. I tried to get a picture, but my camera doesn't take good distance pictures. I'm afraid no one else believes me either, but I did see it.
Attracting Chipmunks into Yard
OK, I know most people want to repel them, but I want to know how to attract chipmunks into my yard. I have a huge yard with woods on 3 sides and lots of trees in the yard. I have tons of squirrels, some deer, foxes, moles, and even the occasional bobcat.
Are plastic grocery bags and garbage bags made from the same type of plastic? If you are required by local ordinances to use plastic bags to dispose of your trash, is there any environmental advantage to using store-bought garbage bags, vs. plastic grocery bags?
Reducing the Amount of Plastic We Use
As we all know, the amount of plastics produced, purchased and ultimately discarded is vast. In one house alone the number of platic items used in virtually every aspect of home living is astronomical. Many plastics are bad for people's health, as well as being bad for the environment during production, and after the fact in the form of litter.
Please help me solve a mystery that has been driving me crazy for 45 years. One very hot afternoon, my best friend Lynnette and I were walking down the street when something fell straight down from the sky and landed at our feet. Of course, we both immediately looked up and there was nothing in the sky.
Does anyone know the best way to dispose of a dead microwave? The safest for Mother Earth and humans?
Mallard ducks have laid 2 eggs but the female and male both just left them there. What do I do?
I would like to see a section on Living Green, for the environmentalists in our group. Being involved in an anti-landfill project as well as being on the local earth day committee, I'd love to hear what other communities are doing to keep their air, water and earth a pristine place to live.
