Here are some photos from the Asahiyama Zoo in Asahikawa, Hokkaido, Japan. They hold this famous Penguin Walk annually from December through March. A walkway is roped off for the penguins to roam around the park, they seemed to do it so happily!

Deep purple and white dahlia.
Garden: DahliaThis gorgeous flower grew in my aunt's backyard garden over last summer. It was one in a group of three and was easily the largest and most beautiful. I took many pictures that day of her garden, but this has always been my favorite.

Scenery: Pitcher Plant (California Academy of Sciences) I took this photo at the CA Academy of Sciences in San Francisco in their 4 story rainforest exhibit. The walk from the lower level up to the canopy, lets you see all the flora and fauna, you would see in a real rain forest, if you could climb a tall tree.

Toy Story "Woody" CakeHere is a cake I made for my one son's second birthday! He loves Toy Story and I just couldn't come up with an idea for a cool cake. So I came up with the idea of doing a picture transfer after reading about them online.

Scenery: Snow Covered Gazing BallOur southern city has a blanket of snowfall on it; it is pristine and the objects in the yard are so pretty with their snowfall blanket. My homemade gazing ball has a cap of snow on it. The gazing ball sits atop a bird bath which is filled with snow.

Scenery: Sunset (San Diego)Having to spend several weeks in San Diego due to my father being in the hospital, this was one of the highlights of my trip. I stayed with a friend in Point Loma, CA. And this was just one of many stunning sunsets.

Scenery: Winter WonderlandLast year we were "blessed" with a lot of snow. School was out, we were days off from work, and we did a lot of back breaking shoveling. Coming back from taking the dog for a walk, I had to reflect and look at the sheer beauty of it all.
