Look what I found sitting on my sunflower leaf! I smiled when I saw him there, as I ran to get my camera hoping he would still be there. When I got back he was, and he posed for this picture before he walked away in the direction of a bug.

Scenery: Butterfly Beach (near Santa Barbara, CA)We drove up to Butterfly Beach right as the sun was beginning to set. It was fate, a lone parking place appeared right as we drove in! Every sunset is amazing, but this one in January will stay with me for many, many years.

A rusted old shipwreck in Honduras.
Travel: Old Shipwreck (Mahogany Bay, Honduras)This shipwreck is sunken on the opposite side of the pier when big ocean liners dock in Mahogany Bay, (Roatan Isle) Honduras. It is such a beautiful place, but this old rusty ship just seemed to belong there.

Wildlife: Great Blue Heron at Beaver Marsh (Akron,...I took this photo of a great blue heron, while he was fishing at Beaver Marsh last week. Beaver Marsh was an auto salvage/junk yard a few decades ago until some busy beavers built a dam, and flooded the area.

Heart Ornament and Noodle AngelsMy friend sent me this heart ornament for Christmas a few years ago. I hung it in front of the calendar and happened to have these noodle angels I had made handy so I hung them together.

Azalea for Mother's DayGrandson Chris sent me this azalea, and he happened to be here when it was delivered. He was surprised, and then upset that it was red, because he had ordered the lavender one.

Scenery: Croft State Park (SC)The scenery at Croft goes from the beautiful lake, to a horse ring, to the lovely, very wooded campsite circles. During our visit there this week, we encountered a gray fox, a flock of turkeys, various rabbits, squirrels, and more.

Bee StillWe've been having lots of grey days in Washington state lately, but they are great for taking pictures. I was lucky enough to catch this bee working hard at gathering pollen off this beautiful flower. I call this picture "Bee Still".

First Morning Glory of the YearI went outside with my camera like I do every morning to see what I can catch. It was a special day! The first morning glory of the season was open and happy. It was shining like the sun!

Garden: Green Figs (Colfax, LA)Here in Louisiana the figs are setting, and are the most beautiful green. This variety is the Brown Turkey Fig. When the figs ripen in about a month, they will be the most gorgeous brown color with hints of pink and purple.

Hen and Chicks SurpriseWe had an early morning spring shower that left the Hen and Chicks with droplets of water. When the sun hit them, they shimmered like diamonds.

Ms. Sparklette (Raccoon)My husband hand feeds this sweet raccoon, and has called it Sparky for a long time. I saw 'him' from the side, and noticed the equipment needed for a 'snack bar for babies'.

Photo: Stop to Smell the RosesI took this photograph of myself on the webcam in my office a few days ago. The roses are fake, in fact, from a thrift store in the area for only a couple bucks. This is a reminder to stop and smell the roses, whether they're fake or real!

Travel: Fancy Cappuccino Art (Osaka, Japan)Here is a fancy little cappuccino with a bear's face! My brother ordered it at a famous department store in Osaka, Japan. It was expensive but well worth the art and of course, it tasted great!
