White Peacock (Oklahoma City Zoo)

I took the grandkids to the zoo in Oklahoma City in June. As we were strolling through, we saw this peacock walking away from us. I guess we startled it because, it stopped right in front of us and starting it strutting. I got pictures of the tail feathers going up, up and full attire. That peacock was absolutely beautiful.

Daxton the Fire King
My nephews were visiting from TX. One night, we were by the fire. My nephew Daxton was on a rock that sits in front of the fire, and says "I'm Daxton the Fire King" (he is 3). It was cute how he just bent down and I was able to capture the moment.

The Wandering Charles River (Natick, Massachusetts)
This photo was taken on a bridge in beautiful South Natick, Massachusetts. The Charles river wanders through the state like a royal hobo until it ends up in Boston. At one point, Harvard is on one side and Boston is exactly opposite on the other side.

Wind Chime for The Path Garden Gate
Last Saturday two of the children that come to the Path Garden almost every day came with this wind chime. They told me they had gone to a yard sale in our neighborhood and when they saw it they thought they should buy it for the garden. DH added a hook for them and they picked out the arch as the place to hang it. They are the same girl and boy (just friends) that brought warm cookies and a sweet note to the gate last year.

Soap Gift at the Gate (The Garden Gate)
I had another surprise at the Garden Gate last week. Some kind person and her dog left this hand soap and a note tied to the arch over the garden gate. Such a treat for these old hands. And much appreciated. The hand made card was very cute too.

Cardinal in Flight (Maryville, TN)
I captured this photo with my cell phone looking through our French doors outside one morning as this cardinal was just coming off one of our log feeders and was in flight with its wings wide open. I was truly amazed that I captured the shot with my cell phone. It landed on the rocks below, shortly after I shot this picture, and then went back to the log feeder for more food before flying away.
We have three log feeders in our front yard that we keep filled year around so that the birds will hopefully not snack on our fruit trees in the backyard. So far so good. :)

Xena
Xena is two years old in these pictures except her baby picture after digging her first hole. She lives with me in the small town of Paris Ontario. Xena loves to run and be as free as I let her. She always checks in if she gets too far ahead. She is always on guard and very friendly with kids.

While visiting Yellowstone Bear World I visited the petting zoo. This peacock put a fine show on for his three peahens as well as us visitors.

Hummingbird (Arizona)
A hummingbird flew to one of the hummingbird feeders at my house a few days ago, so I took a picture of it with one of my film cameras.
