Ham Balls

This is a great dish that can be very festive and good for Christmas Eve! These are very, very yummy!

Ingredients:

  • 2 1/2 lb. ground ham
  • 2 lb. ground pork
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 1/2-2 cup milk
  • 3 cup crushed graham crackers

  • Sauce:
  • 2 cans tomato soup
  • 6 Tbsp. vinegar
  • 2 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tsp. dry mustard

Directions:

Combine all ingredients; mix well. Use 1/2 cup measure to make approximately 25 balls. Place in a shallow baking dish; cover with sauce ingredients that have also been well mixed. Bake at 325 -350 degrees F for 1 1/2-2 hours.

Prep Time: 20-30 Minutes
Cooking Time: 1 1/2-2 Hours

Tip: Ham Balls

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/4 lb. ground ham
  • 1 lb. lean pork
  • 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 1 1/2 cup graham cracker crumbs
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
Sauce:
  • 1 can tomato soup
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp. dry mustard

Directions:

Combine all except sauce ingredients and shape into balls.

Pour sauce over ham balls and bake at 350 degrees F for one hour.

Recipe: Ham Balls

Ingredients

  • 2 lb. ground ham
  • 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup bread or cracker crumbs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • 1 tsp. dry mustard
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup water

Directions

Mix ham, beef, crumbs, milk and ketchup together. Salt and pepper to taste. Make into balls and place in baking dish. Combine vinegar, dry mustard, brown sugar and water. Pour over top of balls in baking dish. Bake at 350 degrees F for 1-1 1/4 hours until done.

Recipe: Ham Balls

Good for leftover ham!

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. Ground ham
  • 1 1/2 lb. Fresh ground pork
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup cracker crumbs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tsp. flour
  • 1/2 cup vinegar
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tsp. mustard
  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar

Directions:

Mix meat together, add eggs, crumbs, milk and flour. Form into meatballs. Lightly roll balls in small amount of additional flour. Place balls in oblong pan.

Mix vinegar, water, mustard, and brown sugar together. Boil, then pour over balls. Bake and one-half hours in 350 degrees F. oven.

**Hint: Not too much flour on outside of ham balls.

Recipe: Ham Balls With Sauce

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb. ground ham
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 lb. ground pork
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 graham crackers
  • 1 1/2 cups milk

Sauce:

  • 1 can tomato soup
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp. dry mustard

Directions:

Mix all together well. Form into balls, either large or small, as desired. These freeze well.

Mix sauce ingredients well. Pour over balls and bake in 350 degree oven for 45 minutes.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 lbs. ground ham
  • 1 lb. ground pork sausage
  • 1 cup cracker crumbs
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp. dry mustard

Directions:

Mix the first 5 ingredients well and form into balls. Brown the ham balls in a skillet. Arrange the balls in a baking pan. Put the other ingredients in a shaker jar and shake well. Baste each ham ball with the mixture. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 1/2 hours. Baste each 1/2 hour. These can also be made quite small and served as an appetizer.
