When I need an extra set of hands to hold open the baggies so I can put in the soup that I want to freeze, and don't have my hubby around, I just use a giant quart size cup and place a baggie inside of it. I'm able to drop anything into that "baggied cup" and then pull it right out when it's filled, and do that for as many batches as I want to freeze.

Perfect Basted EggsI love fried eggs but I hate when the edges get crispy. I love poached eggs but they're just a bit too droopy. Basted eggs are right in between fried and poached, and they are so easy to make.

Using a bagel tool to thinly slice meat.
Bagel Tool to Thinly Slice MeatAfter hurting one hand, I decided to try using my bagel slicing tool to hold my somewhat frozen chicken breast firmly (and SAFELY) vertically, allowing me to cut it thinly for a meal. I think I will try it to slice ham for lunches in the future as well.

A banana that has been finely diced.
Easy Way to Dice a BananaI often have peanut butter and chopped bananas in my oatmeal. I slice the banana in half widthways. Then set it upright and slice in half lengthways and then the same the other direction. Lay it down and slice width way again and it comes out in little fourths.

Rocks To Keep Eggs Upright While BoilingI bought a bag of very small quartz-like rocks from Dollar Tree. I plan to use them for a craft project I have in mind. I found another use for the rocks before ever starting my project, keeping eggs upright while boiling.

Stretch Cooking Oil SprayBetween chicken broth for stir-frying, silicone baking sheets and parchment paper, non-stick spray is rarely used in my house. Economy, however, is never obsolete. Then too, it's not always easy to get even coverage with spray.

Washington State Red Delicious AppleIf my memory serves me correctly, I read that Stark Nurseries held a competition around 1891 at the county fair for the best apple. The 'Hawkeye' apple, as it was called by a contestant, Jesse Hiatt, was entered. We almost didn't get that apple.
