Hand Knitted Hat and MittensI enjoy knitting and crocheting during these long cold winter months. My Catholic church has a collection box for children's hats, scarves, and mittens which will be sent to an orphanage. I've saved all my new left over yarn from other projects, and now I'm on a knitting craze.
Recycled Jeans HotmittsMy son is a career soldier and lives with only the basic necessities of life because the army moves him from one duty station to another. I used his microwave and noticed he didn't have any hot mitts. So I made him a man's set of hot mitts from an old pair of blue jeans.
Breakfast Gift BasketI bought the basket from a garage sale this summer and added a ribbon. The only items that I had to buy was the teapot, and the tea bags. Total cost for making the basket was about $20.00 or less.
Plastic Bag HolderOh, how I enjoy shopping for bargains. During the warmer months, DH and I love to go to all kinds of garage sales. At one of the sales, I saw something hanging on a nail which was stuffed full of plastic shopping bags.
Simply Patriotic AfghanThe crocheted afghan will be donated to the V.V.A. (Vietnam Veterans of America) Scholarship Program for next year. At the present time I'm working on a second afghan for V.V.A.
Tea Bag WalletRecently, tea bag wallets were the big craze on eBay. I studied the photos on eBay and being the frugal person that I am wanted to find a free sewing pattern.
