Does this picture help? Zoomed in - look at the ends on both sides...?! Is it fungus or mold? Or does something have an antennae on both sides? Thoughts on Psocids? Springtails?

UPDATE - the rice pieces were eggs / larva as a few early ones have hatched. They are smallish light blue-ish and have wings. See photo. Sooooo now what are they? Better yet how to get rid of them? Thx.
