An Eastern bluebird on some harvested stalks of corn.
Eastern BluebirdWhile visiting the Antietum Battlefield I was watching a bird in a harvested cornfield and was able to capture it in a picture. To my surprise it was an Eastern Bluebird. I think it turned out to be a very nice scene.

Wildlife: ChickensYesterday my husband was cutting down a couple dead trees in the yard with a chainsaw. Our chicks have never heard such a thing and were staying far away and stretching their necks to see what the noise was all about.

White Gardenia BlossomI had taken many pictures of our gardenia bush this year and dreamed of experiencing that 10 foot tall bush, filled with blooms, with my granddaughter. Little did I know that one special bloom appeared while they were home this week!

Wildlife: Buffalo (Custer State Park, South Dakota)While traveling in South Dakota, we were in Custer State Park and saw this buffalo trying to scratch an itch on a sign. The actual writing on the sign makes it all pretty funny.

Camoflagued moth.
Wildlife: Imperial MothThis imperial moth appeared on my back porch one morning and perched itself against a wooden post. The markings on this moth are that of a fall leaf with the coloration of dark yellows and browns. It was a fascinating creature to see.
