1: Wildlife: Butterfly Kisses

While visiting a butterfly garden last summer with my granddaughter, I stressed the importance of not touching the butterflies. I guess I didn't say anything about giving them a kiss though.

Burning BushThis past fall the burning bush did well. It took a year or two to get so pretty. The first year I was disappointed, but the wait was worth it.

Garden: AzaleasWhen we moved into our house last fall, we had no idea that the huge overgrown bushes along the driveway, were this beautiful in the spring. I'm so glad we decided to wait to trim them, until we saw them for a full season.

Garden: Black Swallowtail ButterflyThis beautiful black swallowtail butterfly was stuck on my screen this morning, when I got up and opened the blinds. I went outside and took his picture before rescuing him. Swallowtails are attracted to phlox, milkweed and Queen Anne's lace.

Grand Tetons (Idaho)This photo turned out so beautiful I just had to share it. Taken from the Idaho side, going north toward Yellowstone and looking east toward Wyoming. I am so blessed I get to see this at least once a week.

Scenery: Hyacinth (WA)I live in South Central Washington State which is a desert area. The courtyard of my apartment complex is really nice with a swimming pool, a man made creek, and a couple of purple desert cherry trees, pine trees, and some wild rose bushes.

Lorikeets (Birmingham Zoo, AL)This is a picture taken of the lorikeet exhibit on a recent trip to the Birmingham Zoo. These lorikeets are very tame; you can feed them their nectar, and they will perch on your shoulder or your fingers as they feed.

Scenery: Pond At EveningThis was taken behind my daughter's house. You can hear a lot of frogs there. It sounds so peaceful after dark.

Crown of Thorns and Bromeliad (Nassau, Bahamas)This beautiful crown of thorns sits on my driveway in Nassau Bahamas with potted bromeliad. This picture was taken at about 6.30 A.M., just as the sun rose and the dew had not yet dried.

Scenery: Cole Harbour (Nova Scotia) I do a lot of hiking near my home in Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia, and although the climb up the hills is quite a workout, the views are definitely worth it. It is early spring here, and the leaves are not out yet.
