Harlem Globetrotters (Key Arena, Seattle, WA)
My son couldn't wait to finally meet the Harlem Globetrotters. It was exciting and he got to get some pictures with some of them. A couple were VERY VERY tall.

Woodchuck (Litchfield County, CT)
This is a woodchuck that visits my yard at least three times a week. They are quite shy, and it ran off as soon as it realized I was there!

You're on MY Feeder! (Litchfield County, CT)
This woodpecker (downy or ladderback?) is eating the ants off the feeder, and a female ruby throat just happened to arrive at the right time to get in the shot. They can't take their eyes off each other!

Sunrise (Trolling Lake, Northern Ontario)
I took this photo a few years ago early one morning at the lake we camp at in the summer. This was taken right outside our travel trailer door. I loved the way the mist was rising on the water and how the sun was highlighting the grass and our boat. Other parts of the world that I have visited are beautiful, but this is one of my favorite places.

Baby Birds (Williston, FL)
Mama bird built a nest in my utility room. One day, I heard chirping and found these little ones. They were hungry and anxiously awaiting mama bird to come back with food. Soon afterward they found their wings and took off. Fond memories of them.

Dragonflies (Salisbury, MD)
The last few days, I spent in my backyard with my camera chasing after dragonflies and damselflies. I like taking pictures of just about anything that captures my eyes, this time it's my backyard dragonflies and damselflies. I think they're beautiful, don't you?

Every night just before dark (usually around 8pm), we go out side to see the show they put on for us while they are at their buffet, in honor of them and the great work they do for us.

Darting in and out swooping, it's a free show of lovely colors. We have electric dark and light blue, yellow and gold, red and orange, vibrant white and black. They are a sight to see and we love it!

We love country living, wild life and nature.

My Blooming Moon Flowers
I planted these last year and they came back. I love them! I wish I would have planted them in my angel garden; I may do that in the fall.

They're show off flowers for sure :) with huge blooms. It is a shame each blooms for one evening, yet there are always more blooms. At the moment I have 14 buds. I can't wait for every evening to see new blooms.

They hold up even with all the heat we're having this summer. I consider them a keeper in my gardens and when the full moon shines on them they are breath taking!

I took these just before dark last night. I hope you'll enjoy seeing my moon flowers and maybe even plant one for your garden. :)

Suet Substitute
I always give the birds stale bread slices PLUS I feed them seeds and suet cakes but today (since I ran out of store bought suet cakes) I put them all together! I buttered the slice of bread with chunky peanut butter on each side (one side at a time) then dropped the bread into my bag of bird seed!

Each slice fits into the pre-made suet holders perfectly!

If you love BIRDS vote for me!

Photo: Blooms that Tag Culture (River Arts District, Asheville NC)
This photo is taken in summer, and is part of a seasonal photo show based in photographing our area during the four seasons of the year. This one shows the juxtaposition of gang tags and urban art with the graceful beauty of blossoming weeds in the surrounding lot. My husband, James Hickey, took this photo, and wrote a sonnet to go along with it. We sell these and other photos in the Marshall Arts booth. We pop up in Paris of the South and other places throughout the summer.

Clouds At 36,000 Feet (over Indianapolis, Indiana)
This picture was taken by my husband, a commerical pilot, flying 36,000 feet over Indianapolis. This cloud formation was so unusual that he wanted to share it with me. In over 42 years of flying, he's never seen anything like this!
