Beat together butter, sugar, and cocoa. Beat in eggs. Stir in dry ingredients, vanilla and nuts (optional). Pour into greased jellyroll pan and bake at 375 degrees for 25 minutes.
Combine all ingredients in saucepan. Bring to boil. Boil 1 minute and remove from heat. Cool pan in ice water and do not stir while frosting is cooling. Beat to spreading consistency; frost brownies.
