Colorful Mixed Vegetable SaladMarinate vegetables. Stir in refrigerator - keeps as long as lasts.

 

Caraway PuffsDissolve yeast in warm water. Add caraway seeds. Heat cheese just until lukewarm. Mix cheese, sugar, salt, soda and eggs into yeast mixture. Slowly add flour, mixing until dough cleans bowl. Let rise in warm place until double, about 1 hour. Stir down dough. Divide among 24 well-greased medium muffin cups. Cover and let rise again until double, about 45 minutes. Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Bake about 25 minutes. Remove rolls from cups and brush with butter. Yield: 2 dozen puffs

 

Double Chocolate MuffinsCombine first 4 ingredients. Combine egg, milk, margarine. Pour liquid into dry ingredients; add chips. Stir just to mix.

 

Grandma's Salad DressingCombine the following in a blender or shaker jar with tight closure. Keep refrigerated.

 

Pretzels - Kids LOVE making these!Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F. Empty the package of yeast into a big bowl, and pour in the water. Leave for about 5 minutes. Add the salt, sugar and flour to the yeast and stir well. Form the dough into a ball with your hands. Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until it's smooth and stretchy. Divide dough into 24 balls and roll into thin sticks. Twist sticks. Grease some large cookie sheets and put the pretzels on them. Space them out well. Brush pretzels with a little egg and sprinkle with salt. Ask an adult to put them in the oven for 20 minutes.

 

Bread Machine Oatmeal RollsMix in order suggested for your machine. Use dough cycle. When dough is mixed let rise until doubled in bulk.

Curd Stain on Silk?I stained my nicest fine silk skirt with the milky liquid from the curd that makes mozzarella cheese. The dry cleaners could not get it out. It seems that the liquid is made of enzyme called renee. Not even water and soap can get it out.
