Wildlife: Salamander (Nesika County Park,...While relaxing along the river at Nesika County Park with my husband and our two dogs, this little critter decided to make friends with us. He swam near us, sun-bathed near us, and even got brave enough to decide to crawl towards and inspect my camera.

Ocean Rose (Oregon)While hiking with my husband, I found a dozen long-stemmed, red roses strewn across the rocks of an abandoned beach near Shore Acres State Park. They were so beautiful, and smelled so sweet, you'd think they were put there just to be found by me.

Deer in Park Grazing
Wildlife: Deer in the Woods (Cleveland, OH)We were at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo and walking next to the actual Metroparks. We were looking at the reindeer and I glanced into the park area and there were 3 deer. This one was only about 4 feet away over the fence so I took a picture.

Park Sign for Zion National Park
Travel: Zion National ParkI have traveled the U.S. extensiveley over the years and it never ceases to amaze me how very beautiful our country truly is. I visited my daugther and son-in-law in Las Vegas. We drove the 2 hours to Zion National Park over Labor Day weekend.

Large Pink Rose
Scenery: Pink Rose (Shore Acres State Park, OR)This is a pink rose among other budding roses. It was taken at Shore Acres State Park on the Oregon Coast, famous for it's gorgeous rose gardens. It has a very sweet smell, almost like perfume, and is soft to the touch!

Scenery: Yellow Wildflowers (Shore Acres...Growing in the shadowy edges of Shore Acres State Park on the Oregon Coast, these blossoms always take my breath away. The vibrant yellow with the perfectly placed red spots are always great eye candy.

Hazy Sunset (San Diego, CA)My Brother and I were just looking across the bay at downtown, San Diego. The fog was rolling in right as the sun was setting and I thought it was very beautiful the way all the pinks and blues mixed together.

Purple and Yellow Viola Flower
ViolaThis pretty little herb is called a viola. Grown by my husband in a pot on our front porch, this tastey morsel is great in salads as well as a breath-freshener on the way out the door. It tastes a lot like mint!

Praying Mantis on Underside of Leaf
Praying Mantis (Richland, WA)I always thought that praying mantis were only green in color. So. I started doubting my sanity after taking the photo of this one on a large leaf bush just off of my patio. Well, I am sure many folk doubt my sanity anyway but it's bad when one doubts their own.
