We don't have much area to plant flowers in our yard as it's mostly concrete everywhere and an in-ground pool, so we had an idea for our backyard hummingbirds. That was to give them some real nectar, from real flowers.

Red lilies in bloom.
Field of LiliesThe rain this past winter and the cold did our gardens well in Murrieta, CA. I had at least 10 stalks of blooms with 6-8 blooms per stalk per plant and I have 2 plants. It was amazing. They smelled so good and gave a red glow to that entire section of my garden.

Flower Arrangement from My GardenSunflowers and zinnias from my garden. The sunflowers are the teddy bear type. Zinnias are my favorite cut flower. That was until I started growing sunflowers. Now sunflowers might be my favorite. Just give me all the flowers. LOL!

Cades Cove Tennessee - deer in the trees
Cades Cove TennesseeFor our 59th wedding anniversary, we went to Townsend, Tennessee and stayed at Townsend Gateway Inn. This motel is vintage style with 2 rocking chairs sitting in front of each room. You pull up and park right there at your room. The room was very clean and quiet. Beside the TV was a little basket of snacks for us to enjoy.

It was exhilarating to look out over the mountains, giant Sequoia's, Pines and natural waterfalls to see them in their natural beauty and realize what a blessing it is to live in the United States of America.

Iced Feeder for the HummingbirdsA few years ago when I was changing one of the feeders, I emptied it out to put in fresh sugar water/nectar, and the sugar water was *scalding hot* from the triple digit summer's heat.

Fuchsia Indiana EchinaceaTiny and singular when purchased, it immediately thrived after transplant and a smidgen of verbal reaffirming of the impending beauty it would blossom to be. It does well among the basic lilies and has hollyhock friends just across to contrast in color and height for a truly fragrant and colorful greeting to guests.
