Pitting and Black Residue on Vintage Magnalite Cookware? This magnalite has been in the family for at least 50 years. I do not put it in the dishwasher. I use hot water, Dawn and a ChoreBoy when needed. It is pitted. When I dry the inside of any piece, a black residue is left on the drying towel. What is this black residue? Is it unsafe?

Refinishing a Wood Hope Chest?I have my mom's Hope Chest from 1942. The inside is cedar; the outside is a very thin layer of veneer over some type of wood. It's in pretty bad shape. I was wondering if I could buy some of that thin veneer, glue it over the four sides, then make a tapestry lid and end up with a coffee-table looking thing (extra storage). I would have to buy four short/squat legs and somehow finish the corners of the veneer after I get that glued on. Does anyone know where I could buy thin veneer?

Too Much Sugar in Turnip Greens?I added too much sugar while cooking turnip greens. Is there any way to tone the sugar taste down? Sort of like you do when you add a potato if you've added too much salt.

How Do I Sell My House to My Son?I'm looking for the least expensive way to sell a home. I already have a buyer (my son). Do I have to go through an attorney? Or a title company? Surely not both. I feel there is no need for a title search but will I have to have one to sell the house? Will I have to have the house appraised? I've gotten a free estimate from a Realtor and the price is okay with me and my son. My son cannot pay cash for the home.
