Getting Rid of Snails?
You can use copper stripping. If you put it around your plants the snails/slugs will die. You can also sink a dish into the soil with beer and they will go after it and drown.

Bringing Houseplants Back Indoors For The Winter
Before bringing my plants in for the winter and also keeping them healthy throughout the winter months, I slosh soapy water all over them. I usually use Dawn dish washing detergent. Ive used this on impatiens and it keeps the bugs off.
