I have some old packages of Oxydol. I don't need them to go to hazard waste, but just to garbage; before that, I thought maybe there still might be some way to salvage them without polluting the environment.

I have used Dawn (or other detergents) and made a sudsy concoction with warm water. This I have sloshed over my plants. It keeps the aphids and other bugs off, especially with impatiens.
Where I lived before I brought in quite a few of these and they bloomed all winter long in my sunny window.
