Mix sugar and gelatin; add milk, syrup, chocolate and butter. Cook to soft ball stage. Add vanilla. Pour into large bowl; let stand 15 minutes. Beat; add nuts.
Nancy, I can't seem to find this recipe now, although I will keep trying to find it. However, I do agree with you that it does sound like a lot and I am definitely not above making a typo! :) In the meantime, I would try using 1/4 cup instead of 1 1/4 cups. I'll keep looking for it. I have thousands and thousands of recipes to dig through. I'm guessing I probably sent this one in around Christmas time, so it's probably buried now. Let us know if you get it to turn out using 1/4 cup.
