Grandma's Potato SoupPare, dice, cook potatoes and onions in about as much water as amount of soup desired. When potatoes are half done, add half stick of margarine. Sift flour and salt into a bowl, make a well in center of flour. Drop eggs in the well.
Roasted Butternut Squash SoupTry this smooth, golden soup that can be made with an inexpensive seasonal ingredient that tastes "like fall." Roasting the squash in a hot oven browns the edges and brings out the sweetness in this simple but healthy soup.
Gooey Pound SquaresMelt butter and mix with the cake mix and 2 eggs. Spread in a greased 9x13 inch pan. (This is a stiff batter). Mix cream cheese, 2 eggs and powdered sugar. Pour over cake mix. Bake at 325 degrees F for 45 minutes. Dust with powdered sugar when cool.
Baked Canned Chicken SandwichesChop large pieces of chicken, if necessary. Add broken crackers and dried onion. Toss slightly. Add beaten eggs and blended celery. Mix along with the water or broth until soupy. Bake at 375 degrees F for 1 1/2-2 hours, stirring twice during baking.
Escalloped TurnipsCombine turnips and onion. Mix flour and milk together. Pour over turnips. Mix crumbs and melted butter. Sprinkle over all. Use oiled casserole. Bake at 350 degrees F for 1 hour.
