Upcycled Letter Rack for Eyeglasses

Upcycled Letter Rack for EyeglassesI up-cycled my letter rack to keep my eyeglasses on. I think the rack cost me £2.99 on eBay. By the window, I have two wooden panels and I decided to place it here. I just needed one nail to hang it by but the bottom half wasn't stable enough so I used a marble-sized piece of white Sugru to keep it in place.

A lemon shaped container for lemon juice.

Lemon Juice Ice PackI re-purposed an empty Jif Lemon juice container for a handy ice-pack. I suffered for a long time with nose bleeds due to a perforation and I found the shape of the Jif bottle was ergonomically shaped to keep the bridge of my nose cold thus stopping the bleeding.

High Volume Holiday Cookie BakingI often bake up to 100 dozen cookies around the holidays to give as gifts. For the drop or rolled out type cookies, I start the day after Thanksgiving by making various cookie doughs, and freezing in zip bags.

Storing Food When the Freezer is Too FullWhen you bring your fresh meat home, place it in the coldest part of your refrigerator, usually the bottom right side. Check the time and start counting the days from the time you put it into the refrigerator. Fresh meat is usually good for three days in the refrigerator.

Use Vaseline for Painting Around MouldingPainting the inside door moulding around the hinges is a job I've never relished because it's picky work. I always ended up getting paint on the hinges no matter how careful I was. It looked awful and needed scraping off when the paint was dry.

Heating Pad Saves the Cold Work DayI know a lot of my friends work in a cold, drafty office and they are always "freezing" at work. I have a very simple and heartwarming idea. I keep a heating pad at work and it works wonders for any aches, pains, or simply cold/chilly feet.

Vinegar for More Absorbent Bath TowelsI use white vinegar in my final rinse when washing all my towels. Your clothes will not smell like a pickle either, that is, unless you use the whole gallon of vinegar.

Cake Platter Photo WreathThe base of this wreath is the bottom to those plastic cake containers from the grocery store deli. I love making useful things from what would otherwise be garbage!
