Recipe: Fabulous Banana Pudding

A delicious twist to banana pudding. My family begs for it. Great for church socials.

Bean BurgersA different way to serve beans.Cook beef and onion, drain. Mix in other ingredients. Spoon thickly onto hamburger buns. Broil 10 minutes, cover with bun tops.

Best I Ever Had Spaghetti SauceThe seasonings give it the best flavor! Brown meat and garlic; drain well. Saute vegetables, except carrot, in olive oil. Combine everything and simmer about 3-4 hours, stirring frequently.

Banana and Cocoa MushThis is a recent find of mine. I am diabetic and this is a nice sweet treat that is not bad for me! I love it because it's healthy, yummy and quick to make. All you need is a fork and a bowl, so you could make this in your lunch hour.

Crash PotatoesIt's easy and a twist on mashed potatoes or french fries. The kids love it and so do adults! Bake potato till soft (I most of the time use my microwave for this).

Easy Cheezy LasagnaThis is a favorite of my husband. Combine water, sauce and meat. Spread 1 1/2 cups sauce mix in a 9x13 pan. Layer noodles on top of sauce.

Jam CakeYum, this is a very moist spice cake. You can use any variety of jam you wish or that you screwed up. Another name for this recipe can be "How to Use the Jam that Didn't Set Up Well Besides Pretending that it is Syrup".

Stuffed MeatballsYummy and kids love it. Mix the stove top stuffing according to directions. Put aside. Mix ground beef with egg, milk and oatmeal. Add salt and pepper to taste.

Mock Octopus and BeansGrandkids gobble them up and don't complain that they want something else. Cut each hot dog in 1/2. Slice each hot dog in 1/2 again long wise leaving a small bulb at the top (this is the head)

Spicy Veggie Burgers for TwoLove the kick of the jalapeno ;-) In a bowl, mash lima beans. Mix in onion, jalapeno pepper, crushed crackers, egg, cheese, salt, and pepper. Divide and shape into two patties.

Summer Vegetable StuffingThis casserole is packed full of veggies that are in season right now and is very tasty. Even the hardcore veggie haters love it!

Clint's Ground Beef ala Mac and CheeseIt's fast, tasty, and economical. Cook ground beef, garlic powder, minced onion, and salt on medium heat until meat is cooked through, turning it so it does not get brown and crisp.

Summer Pancakes (aka Squash Fritters)Yellow squash are plentiful this time of year, so they are frequent additions to our summertime suppers. I have tried many different recipes to add some variety. I found this recipe in our little country church cookbook.

Campfire BunsSimple, cheap, and can be made ahead of time. Combine all ingredients and spoon between hamburger buns. Wrap in foil and heat in 350 degree F. oven 15 - 20 minutes.

Leftovers EmpanadasThis is a way I get rid of leftovers. Pot roast works well, some meat chopped or shredded, some potatoes, chopped and some carrots, chopped with a tablespoon of gravy.

Peaches and Cream PieEasy to make and I haven't served it to anyone who hasn't loved it! Mix dry ingredients, flour, salt, soda and pudding. Add milk, butter and egg. Press into a 10 inch deep dish pie pan. Arrange the peaches on top.

WWII Parsley HoneyI thought to share this recipe that has been used in our family for many years. My Nan made it during the war years and I recently got the recipe from my mom to share with everyone. It's been used as a tonic and an aid to digestion by many a generation in our family.
