This is one of the last photos I ever took with a regular camera before I switched over to digital. I remember rushing home from classes one day because I wanted to snap a photo of the sky.

Bald Eagle (Kansas)
Bald Eagle (Kansas)Yesterday, as the snow was falling, my daughter captured this picture of a bald eagle out in our pastures. We live close to a lake and sometimes have counted up to 16 eagles at one time! They are beautiful and big.

Scenery: Frosty LeavesMy new phone has a retro camera feature that makes photos look vintage. During my morning walk outside my home in the Sierra Mountains, the leaves at my feet were as beautiful as anything I had ever seen and I was curious as to how they would look in a sepia-toned photo.

Scenery: Wildflowers (Alaska)I had the pleasure of going on vacation in Alaska several years ago, and fell in love with it. This particular day we were hiking and it was gloomy. To me this looked so serene with the wildflowers in the foreground, the rocks and the mountains all in one.

Wildlife: Monarch ButterflyThis is a butterfly that I found on our front porch. He wasn't alive when I found him, so I put him in a paper bowl that I had. I took him to my children's elementary school, so they could all see it close up and enjoy all of its beautiful details.

Wildlife: Deer At Bird FeedersAlmost every evening these little ladies come to our bird feeders. That's right, deer eating bird seed! In fact, we had to put the feeders up pretty high in the tree, or the deer knock all the seed out. Now they just come and eat what the birds throw on the ground.

Scenery: Oakum Creek at Munden Point Park (Virginia Beach, VA)My husband and I took a canoe up Oakum Creek putting in at Munden Point Park, in southeastern Virginia Beach, VA. The trip took about an hour to get to the turn around point. Awesome scenery and these trees were begging to be photographed.
