Garden: Date Palms (Iraq)
With great pleasure, I present these photos. They show a side in my garden. The main and loveliest trees to me are those two date palms. They are of the same kind of fruit. It is the best kind in Iraq and in Basrah, where I live. We call it berhi.

Garden: Hollyhocks
I love my hollyhocks. I have them all around my home so many people just stop and look at them. In fall time, I get the seeds and reseed them. Hollyhocks are so pretty. I have all colors, they last longer than roses.

Pelicans at The Zoo
This is a picture of some beautiful white pelicans, obviously with an itch. We took this picture at a local zoo. I think that it is very neat picture. It looks as if you copied one and put it on the other side.

These 2 ladies weren't feeding, just hanging out in their trellis garden, later in the afternoon. I used a tele lens at high speed to capure the details.

Butterfly On Lantana
When I go to let the doggies out I bring my camera. I always find something interesting to photograph. I found this wonderful flower bush in the empty lot next to us and so did this butterfly.

These flowers open up in the morning. By mid-day they are all gone, until the next day when new ones open. On it goes for a long time. They multiply fast which can be used as hedges for fencing

We stopped to look at this historic bridge near Winterset, Iowa, on our way to see John Wayne's birthplace during our family vacation. It was an old bridge built in 1884, but was well built.

I was out in the back this week and happened to go to the side yard, looking for Buddy. And I was standing near the hibiscus and saw the moon shining through the leaves. My camera is not very good, but this was fun anyway.

While cleaning a bench on our deck, I discovered a large, puffy cocoon with a beautiful moth hanging onto it. I ran for my camera and scooted under the bench on my back. This photo was snapped after it's wings were fully opened.
