This is my photo of the little hummingbirds that come to our feeders daily. We have 19 feeders outside but, for some reason, this feeder is just simply their favorite.

We were so very blessed to buy a property that had a very beautiful mature landscape with damson purple plums, 5 varieties of apples, a green gage plum tree, and so many flower varieties.

Summer Afternoon (Paris Mt. State Park, SC)Living in the city, I was surprised to find out this was literally 5 minutes from my house. So we took advantage of the day and spent it fishing and hanging out by the lake. We didn't catch anything, but it was a beautiful day regardless.

Swans at Sunset (England)I took this photo on the River Thames in England while visiting my family. I'd never seen so many together, happily playing about while the sun was going down. In England, the swan is a symbol of loyalty and strength. Swans were given Royal status in the 12th century.

Busy Butterfly (Monarch Butterfly)I came across this beautiful Monarch butterfly on an early morning walk this September. Intensely feeding on nectar, and pollinating the flower, he did not seem to notice me at all! Quietly, I leaned in closer and closer until I captured him on film. Then I left him unbothered and continued on.

For The Love Of FlamingosMy 5-year old granddaughter loves flamingos, from the design to her room to the clothing and accessories! We heard about a lovely place in Columbia, SC that houses them. We decided that this would make a great field trip for her. It was like a dream come true for her.

Galapagos Giant TortoiseI love turtles! I always had them as pets growing up. This one is called a Galapagos Giant Tortoise. It eats mostly grasses and can live to be 170 years old, yes, 170! What stories he could tell in his lifetime.

Kordes' Perfect RoseI've learned that the same rose bush can produce quite dissimilar roses. I have a bush named 'Playboy'. It produces roses so unlike each other, one would think they were from different bushes. Even the petal count is affected. This 'single' rose is sometimes semi double.

Surprise Pumpkins - small yellow pumpkins
Surprise PumpkinsI use the square foot gardening for 3 gardens. I planted these miniature sugar pumpkins. I waited and nothing came up. I just assumed they didn't take. Two weeks ago, I started seeing small yellow fruit. I was confused. As they got bigger it was apparent that the pumpkin vines migrated to the second garden.

Doheny State Beach with surfers and sunbathers.
Doheny State Beach (CA)Don't worry, those are not sharks in the water - they're actually surfers! Looks like this state park is very popular for learning how to surf and there are surf lessons available here. It was pretty cool to watch the swarm of surfers! Living in California my entire life and I don't know how to surf.

Our PondThis is my pond. My Hubby built it because we live on a hill and I was retiring. He dug it all out by hand. It's very relaxing. Even inside our bedroom, you can hear the waterfall and the bullfrog while you are falling asleep.
