Corn that has been dried on the cob, ready for parching.

Parching Corn?My mother made parched corn with popcorn. Where do I buy corn on the cob (she shucked it off cob)?

A battery operated headlamp.

Using Battery Operated LightsBattery operated lights are very convenient for closets and other dark areas that may not have an easily accessible power outlet. With the new LED bulbs, the batteries can last a long time, making it cost effective too.

A one pot pasta recipe in a cast iron frying pan.

One Pot RecipesOne pot recipes are wonderful for quick easy meals. Meat, veggies and starches are combined and cooked together. Many of these recipes can be modified for a slow cooker or Instant Pot too.

An arrow sign that says "Home for Sale"

Muffins on a cooling rack.

Healthy Cinnamon Apple MuffinsI like low sugar recipes, and I always post my successes. This has an optional cinnamon sugar topping, which will post but did not use to save calories.

A bowl of Lentil Soup

Lentil SoupA healthy soup that freezes well and is just perfect for the cold weather we have been having. I made mine in my Instant Pot. It can also be simmered on the stovetop for at least an hour or made in a crockpot for 4-6 hours on high.

A cat next to a can of cat food.

Making Sure Cats Get Enough WaterA couple of years ago, my older cat was diagnosed with chronic renal failure. He was very dehydrated and weak and would regularly vomit up his food. The vet gave him a subcutaneous water treatment and prescribed him special food for renal support but warned us that it was not a cure, just a way to keep him as stable as possible for the next few years.

A decorative bottle filled with sand and shells.

Beach In A BottleI use these in my beach themed bathroom. You can use any bottles as long as the opening is big enough for the shell to go through. Craft stores have sand in different shades, shells in different shapes/sizes and pebbles. You can get some from the beach but you should wash them so the bottle doesn't get cloudy, grow mold or bacteria.

A hot dog bun made into French toast.

Hot Dog Bun French ToastAs I was cleaning out my freezer, I found one hot dog bun in the back. I usually make bread crumbs with it. Someone on one of my Facebook groups suggested making French toast with it. It was a great use of it.

The finished decorative clock planter.

Just In Time for Spring PlanterThis was a fun idea I saw on the internet and I love the look of old clocks. This will be used as part of a front porch decor for my daughter's new home.

A faded line in the middle of a light colored fabric.

Faded Areas on Fabric?I have had this cut of fabric for a few years and just noticed faded spots where folded, when rearranging my fabric stash. There are printed white flowers on the light blue chambray fabric. Is there a way to fix the faded areas or is this now scrap fabric?
