Tip: Use Cornstarch to Reduce Bleeding

After seeing one great tip about cornstarch, I thought I should share mine. A year or so ago, one of my dairy goats had a scurr (an incompletely removed horn that grows back poorly) that was becoming uncomfortable and pressing on her head.

Tip: Organizing Financial Information

Hang Decorative Flags in Your WindowIf you have trouble with winds whipping your decorative porch flags or you don't have a place for a pole holder, try hanging them inside a window. Just place the flag on a tension curtain rod and position it between the glass and the mini blinds at the top of the window frame.

Plug Extension Cords Into Outlets Blocked By FurnitureWhen placing furniture in front of an electrical outlet, always plug in an extension cord into the outlet. You can hide the cord then when you need the outlet it is in easy reach. Extension cords are $1 at Dollar stores so you can have one in every blocked outlet.

Redistribute Leftovers After an EventAfter an event, many things may just be tossed out because everyone is too tired to think of anything else. But it's better to re-distribute the leftover food, cake, drinks, water bottles, napkins and so on among those who worked so hard to put the event together.

Use a Hairbrush on Carpet Before VacuumingIf you sew, knit, do crafts or have long hair, you understand how many threads can get caught up in your vacuum's roller. I've found the easiest way to prevent this is to take a regular bristle hair brush and quickly brush the carpet in the bad areas before vacuuming.

Cap Caulk Tube With Clipped EndWhen cutting the top off a tube of caulking, save the end piece. When you are finished using the caulking, turn the piece around and insert into the tube hole. You have a perfect cap and no more dried out caulking.

Save Cherry Pits for Heating PadsI save cherry pits to make my own heating pad. I wash the pits and dry them thoroughly. Either put the washed pits outside in the hot sun or heat them in an 250 degree F oven for one half hour or until thoroughly dried.

Using Powdered CleanserHere is a tip for when you are using powdered cleanser (like Comet) for your bathroom. When you first open it and peel the tape off the holes, just move the tape over and only have 2-3 holes showing.
