Back in 2011, I acquired him from a man who was going to put him in a shelter. He was moving and couldn't take him along. Shasta's name was Kingsley at the time, and he was 9 months old. When I found out, I asked "If you're just going to put him in a shelter, can I have him?" And the rest is history '

Lexi Lou (Blue Fawn Pit)We got her at the pound. Everyone was passing her up because she was very sick. She was missing most of her fur, scabbed up, and oozing from her infection. We nursed her back to health and from our labor of love she grew very attached to our family as we did her.

Snuggles (Cat)Snuggles was found in a dumpster at the local dump. She was found when they were dumping out the dumpster and she rolled out with a damaged front leg. Her front leg needed 4 staples to hold it in place till it healed. She was only about 9-10 days old when I got her. This is a picture of her about a week and a half after rescuing her.

Connor Allen (Tiger Stripe Cat)This little love bug was dumped in front of the local dollar store. Through a horrendous rain storm, he stayed hoping someone would come back. For 3 days the ladies at the store and the store next door, fed him, let him inside the tiny store, and put him on social media, hoping he was just lost. On the 4th day, I came out of the store and he was sitting there like "Can you take me home now?".

Louis (Ragdoll)I found Louis wandering around my parents' neighborhood, scared and dirty. He hid in the bushes for hours while I tried to coax him out with food and water. When he finally came out he immediately let me pick him up and cuddle him, he's such a sweet and affectionate boy! Since my parents were planning to call animal control I took him home.

Bradley (Persian)I got him 2 years ago from a breeder. I usually only get rescue animals, but Bradley was a special case. His breeder was trying to breed a specific color of Persian, white fur with silver tips. Bradley was a dud and the breeder obviously didn't like him. He kept him locked in a room by himself and wouldn't let him around the other kitties.

The day before my 21st birthday, my dad happened to see an old dog trainer of his he hadn't seen in 20 years. The trainer informed him of the beautiful, sweet girl that had been in a very abusive home and was terrified of everything. My dad knew this was it. It had to be.
