Raccoons are incredibly intelligent, and very dextrous with their little paws. I would like to impart a few ideas that may help you coexist with these marvelous little bandits. However, as you know, nothing is foolproof.

I have several large 3 drawer plastic organizers that I purchased from Walmart to hold everything. I have divided each of my drawers. I divided one in half. The others into thirds, quarters and eighths.

Cleaning a Front LoaderUse trisodium phosphate, otherwise known as TSP (1/4 cup per load). It will make your clothes cleaner, and remove the mildew from the seal area that smells. Next time, don't buy a front loader.

Cleaning a Front Loading Washing MachineI've got a front loading LG washer and what I do is pour bleach in the liquid bleach hole, run your washer on the hottest setting, or if you have one, on the clean tub setting.

Clothes Washing SavingsWash clothes in cold water, and skip the dryer. A regular load of wash and wear can be hung on the shower curtain rod. Start slow, one load per week = 52 loads a year. Family members may catch on. Good luck.

Egg Shells For Slug PreventionMy father once told me of collecting and drying egg shells for the garden. When they are dry you crush them up and spread the pieces at the base of your plants. Slugs and snails won't crawl over the shards.

Freezing BananasWhen the banana skins start to get brown, I peel the bananas and wrap each one in plastic wrap. Once I have them all wrapped, I place them in a freezer zip bag and store them in the door of my kitchen freezer.

Frizzy Hair RemediesIf my hair looks really dried out or frizzy on the ends, here is what I do. I take hand lotion and rub it on my hands, and then I rub it on. Don't use too much or you will look greasy.

Lemon and IceTo clean my garbage disposal, I slice one lemon in half and toss them into the disposal along with 4 or 5 ice cubes. I turn on the disposal and the cold water. Voila, the disposal is cleaned and freshened all at the same time.

Make A Master ListClutter can become overwhelming. My solution is to create a master list of things that are needed to live. Clothes that are needed for our/your way of life, groceries, furniture, and just basic needs which are placed in categories.

Orajel For Bee StingsFor pain relief from bee stings, immediantly put Orajel where you were stung. This is the same thing that babies use when they are teething. Also use with any other stings.

Stay At Time Shares Or Rental HomesMy tip for saving at Disney is to always stay at a timeshare rental. For about the same cost as a hotel room, you will have a condo or house with bedrooms, bathrooms, living/dining area and full kitchen.

Summer Energy Saving TipsMy most effective energy saver is using the foil like car windshield visors. I cut them to fit my windows (foil side out), and taped up. The cost out of pocket is about 6 bucks.

Tips For Saving On ElectricityFirst, swap out any incandescent lights with compact fluorescent, even your exterior lights. I discovered the latter when my outside light, an incandescent, kept burning out every few weeks.

Use Batteries Instead Of ElectricityTo save on electricity during peak costs, use a battery operated radio. I also use a battery operated lamp in my bedroom. The batteries last a long time, saving money.

Use Dish Washing LiquidWhen I was younger I stayed with my grandma, due too a bad winter storm we were snowed in and ran out of shampoo. We used the original green Palmolive dish washing liquid, it made our hair soft, clean, and grease free for several days.

Using Mini Flake Wood ShavingsI purchase a product called Dust or Mini Flake made from wood shavings but very fine. I use it for my cats' litter box. I have several cats because I rescued them so I change the box every morning.

Cleaning A Disposal With Baking Soda, Vinegar, and IceI always use the old baking soda I take out of the fridge or freezer and put it down the disposal. I add vinegar to make it bubble up and get to every part inside. This keeps it smelling clean and fresh.

Freeze Bananas in SkinsFreeze medium ripe, skin-on, bananas in freezer bags. To use, allow bananas to partially thaw at room temperature, 5-10 minutes so skins can be easily removed. These bananas are excellent and handy for baking.

Get Them To Stop At Your Garage SaleUse bright neon contrasting posterboard to make your signs (example: hot pink and hot green or flourescent orange). Have a box labeled FREE near the enterance and put a few toys, socks, etc. in it which is free for the taking.

Ice to Clean DisposalOne of the best ways that I know of is to turn the water on at a trickle and turn your disposal on while empty. Then push about two quarts of ice cubes down into the disposal. That's ice, not fingers!

Lemon Juice and SugarI use lemon juice and sugar (try not to lick your face). Mix together and gently rub on your face. Let stay on about 15 minutes, and then rinse with warm water. It will lighten age spots and freckles.

Shipping Tape To Deter AntsI was finding ants getting into my hummingbird feeder that was hung on a shepard's hook. They apparently climbed up the pole and into the food. I took shipping tape and tied it with string around the post (with sticky side out) starting at the bottom.

Have an Organized Priced SaleMake sure everything is organized and has a price tag on it. Before opening your sale, be sure everything is put out to be sold. As customers move through and buy, straighten things back up, and keep everything neat.

Tips For Saving At DisneylandWe took our two oldest grand daughters to Disneyland a little over a year ago. It was a dream come true. We stayed at a resort a couple miles away. They had a shuttle that ran to all the parks every day.

Using Ice for Disposal CleaningFill the disposal with ice cubes and let stand for a good ten minutes. Then flush with cold water, while running the disposal for ten seconds or so. This method hardens all the gunk on the blades, causing it to break up. It cleans and sharpens the blades.

Store Crayons In Baby Wipe ContainerI run a day care and we put all crayons in an old baby wipe container. We also have one with markers, and one with colored pencils.

Storing BananasI have posted this in the past, but I will add it to this grouping. If you put your bananas in a brown plastic grocery bag and a clear or white plastic grocery bag in the refrigerator, they stay fresh much longer. They don't discolor either.
