In our household, we have not gone grocery shopping physically in stores in over 5 weeks. I have tried 4 new food services since then and I would like to share with you my first impressions, thoughts and reviews.

We were cold and without a way to even have a coffee. Too many of us are in that stage where we fall easy enough in the daytime.

Saving Money On InsuranceCheck your insurance policy. I had a jewelry/fur rider for years. When the gold got high I sold so much of the jewelry. I also gave away a lot to my daughter. I haven't had a fur in many years. I looked at what I have left, and decided it wasn't worth it to keep it. I am saving $89 per year.

Cheaper In - Shower CreamI found this cream in the back of my closet. Upon using it, I found it too greasy for my taste. However, we are sheltering in place and I didn't want to make any unnecessary trips to the store to get my usual brand. I discovered that if I apply it right after my shower to wet or damp skin, there is no greasy residue at all.

Marking the Perfect Spot on Bathtub FaucetAs I age, I realize I can't handle as much hot water as I used to. But a hot soak that isn't hot, isn't a hot soak. So, I found the perfect temperature and marked the spot with a pretty gem you can barely see. As I am in a rental, I will be able to take it off when I leave.

Two Lidless Tubs Become OneToday, after working most of the week on crafts, I decided to work on my apt's clutter problem. I was able to clean out two tubs, leaving me with the bottoms, but not the tops. That happens a lot when you are moving around a lot.

Homemade Sanitizing WipesI used old cloths materials for these to avoid wasting paper towels in this trying time. After use of cloths, wash and reuse cloths. I use them at home and at work and they work out wonderful!

Measuring and LearningWhen you are having your little ones help you make a cake, cookies, etc., pull a chair up to the sink for them to stand on and tell them that you need 1/2 cup of water. Show them the 1/2 cup mark, explain what it means and then put the measuring cup in the sink and let them fill it from the tap or a plastic glass. If they spill, it's only water and it's in the sink and tempers don't flare.

Quick Easter Dinner For OneDue to COVID-19 and being quarantined, Easter for everyone was different this year.Well, I told myself I would not get upset and would try to make a similar but somewhat traditional dinner for one. Coconut Oil for Dry HandsI think I have washed my hands more in the last two weeks than in the past two months. To keep them from getting so dry, I use lotion. In addition to the lotion, I have been using coconut oil to keep my hands soft. It's an easy application with the use of X-large disposable latex gloves.

Cowl Mask IdeaI began walking again, to counteract the shelter in place order in our state. We can walk our pets, do any essential things and such but nothing else. So, while I can keep my brain sane with crafts, I have to keep my body as fit as I can get it, plus get some fresh air.

Protecting Old GloryI love to fly my flag everyday, but it usually only lasts one year and then I have to replace it due to shredding, elements, etc. This time, I decided to protect one side of it with Heat and Bond (clear) to protect it. Since I just completed this today, I won't know how well it works until more time has passed.

You Don't Have to Kneel to PrayIt was the first of May and the Smiths, our neighbors that live across the field from us, were going on vacation for a week and asked if we could care for their chickens while they were gone. Freezing Store Bought BreadMy husband an I seldom eat a full loaf of bread before it gets stale or grows green stuff. I read where bread that is frozen keeps better than just keeping it in the fridge. But separating the slices became a problem. I decided to put two slices in a sandwich bag. I do this to the whole loaf. Then I put the bagged slices in the loaf bag and re-tie it.

Place a piece of bread on top of your pot or rice cooker full of mushy rice, put the lid back on, and allow to sit for 5 to 10 minutes. The extra liquids will make their way into the bread, and your rice is saved.

I put it back in the produce bag, roll it around to press out the air, fold the top over and put a rubber band around the bunch to keep the plastic tight.

Table Runner on Washer and DryerI have lots of 72 inch table runners, but because my dog likes to take a corner "and run with it", I have found another use for them. They fit the top of my front loading washer and dryer set perfectly! I put a rug pad beneath, cut to size, to keep in place. What this does is prevent scratches to my very expensive machines, and it dresses things up in the laundry. A win-win!

Triple A Batteries to Save the DayHave you ever needed AA batteries but only have AAA on hand, don't worry. AAA will save the day, you can use them when your device requires double A. Simply fill in the gap with foil on the contact the positive terminal. So if you're ever in the store and forgot which one to get, go for the AAA.

Yesterday, I was getting a little reorganized for the change of seasons, and had an idea to make some storage space in my small laundry room. I have front loading machines that sit about 6 to 8 inches away from the back wall to accommodate hoses and vents.

Be A Cheesy SaverI buy the presliced blocks of cheese. They are what restaurants use, easy to peel off a slice at a time. I have an airtight container I keep it in for easy access. I save money and don't have to unwrap every price I use. I keep about 2/3rd of a package at a time in my cheese container and wrap the remainder up good until time to refill the container.

Lotion HolderI had a bottle holder which I didn't have any use for. I decided to make a lotion caddy out of the bottle holder so I could store my lotions on the counter top and have easy, daily access to a choice of lotions rather than dig through a bathroom drawer or have them piled up all over the countertop.
