In this part of PA all the towns have Indian names. We respect the Native American background here, with Pow Wows all summer and into the fall.

Photo: Tough Job (Cutting Down A Tree)I watched this guy meticulously trim the branches from this tree in my neighbor's back yard, and carefully lower them to the ground by rope. Then he took the tree down a chunk at a time. Not for the faint at heart to be sure.
Outer Banks (North Carolina)This was taken from the boat we were on during our trip to the Outer Banks, North Carolina. Gorgeous sky, perfect weather. Loved being by the ocean!

Scenery: Cole Harbour (Nova Scotia) I do a lot of hiking near my home in Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia, and although the climb up the hills is quite a workout, the views are definitely worth it. It is early spring here, and the leaves are not out yet.

Scenery: Cat in ArubaWhile vacationing in Aruba in November 2010, I came across an adorable cat hiding in a tree at the resort I was staying at. I tried to coax him down but he wanted no part of anyone!
Scenery: Antique Horse Drawn Hearse (1800's)The last ride is a journey home! This hearse was from the 1800's and a pair of white mules pulled it home. Years ago, this would have a everyday ride, but not today. Wonderful way to honor and respect the passing of a friend.

Scenery: Steaming Coffee Pot CloudsI was walking around the yard doing some black and white photography when I decided to sit this old pot on the mailbox post. My husband said the clouds were in the perfect spot to make it look like it was a steaming pot of coffee.
Scenery: Golden Trees in November (Fallon, NV)I fell in love with these trees when I was driving into Fallon, NV. They are so beautiful on their own, but adding the mountains in the background is just amazing. The golden-yellow color is so vibrant, makes this scene so eye-catching to me.

Scenery: Woods With SnowdropsThis is a photo taken in the woods close to the town where I live. It is a short walk from town and very popular at this time of year when the snowdrops are in bloom. A welcome sight after a long winter!

I got the idea for the shot by thinking of what you see when you look to the sky. Looking through a church door to heaven from the outside is something you can not do everyday.

Travel: Scarecrow Competition (Uphill, UK)Here in Somerset we have an annual Scarecrow competition in the village of Uphill. Here are a few pictures of some of the entries. I look forward to it every year. Some are so ingenious!
Scenery: Whirlpool State Park (Niagara, NY)The Niagara River makes a 90 degree turn at one point which causes natural whirlpools to appear, momentarily, and then they swirl away. You have to be quick on the shutter button to capture them!
Scenery: Wishing Tree (Withalacochi River, Wahoo, FL)This unique swamp oak has grown for many years near the Withalacochi River near Wahoo FL. The locals call it the wishing tree because of its wish bone shape. If you sit on the fork and make a wish, it may come true. Be careful what you wish for.
Scenery: Running the Strawberry RowsWe try to pick strawberries locally every year. The long rows made a great place to do running "speed work" for Cameron, my 3 year old.

The trip took about an hour to get to the turn around point. Awesome scenery and these trees were begging to be photographed.
Scenery: Park Bench (Wabash River)This photo was taken around August at a local park. The river in the background is the Wabash River. The Wabash River is a tributary of the Ohio River. I was sitting at a car show and decided to snap some photos.
Scenery: Horseshoe Trail (Mount Baker, WA)My husband and son bundled up and took a winter hike on a cold day. Often hiking is more popular in the summer and fall months, but I think we forget how beautiful winter can be.
Scenery: Summer RemnantsI love to photograph and draw botanicals. Now when we are snowed in, I did not expect to find much on my crunchy/squeaky walk to the spring. Wrong! There was a summer once and she left forms against the snow in the exquisite remnants of wildflower bracts and seed pods.

Scenery: Minto-Brown Island Park (Salem, OR)My husband and I were out on a walk one day. We never knew this little place existed. It was nice and cozy yet open to the rest of the world. Hidden in the outskirts of a bustling town, here is this little gem.
Wildlife: Flock of BirdsEvery fall the birds congregate in the field across the street after it's been combined to eat whatever is left behind. It's such a beautiful sight - and sound - when they all take off at the same time!
Scenery: San Isabel Lake (Colorado)A beautiful fall day in mid October along the banks of San Isabel Lake. The sun was starting to set and storm was rolling in from the mountains. Just enough sunlight lit up the Aspen as the clouds reflected in the water below.

Scenery: AcornsOur oak trees are dropping all of their acorns. All of these were there one morning after a strong wind overnight. We live surrounded by woods and pastures, so there are lots of deer, squirrels, and raccoons to eat them.

Scenery: Drumlins (Nova Scotia)Drumlins are hills created by the glaciers thousands of years ago. This is a good example of the many drumlin hills found along Nova Scotia's coastline. I live near this beautiful scene.

Scenery: Boulder Field (Hickory Run State Park, NE PA)Boulder Field is located in Hickory Run State Park in northeastern PA. You can either drive to it or hike through nature, emerging at this sea of boulders. Certainly a sight to see!
