Controlling And Dividing Liriope (Monkey Grass)I had to sink some cinder blocks into the ground to hold back soil my foundation Holly hedge is planted in. The blocks do a great job, but the exposed top halves were rather unsightly. I planted liriope in front of the blocks.

Bottle Feeding My Tomato PlantsTake an empty clear plastic water bottle, cut off the bottom, drill a hole or bang a nail hole thru the plastic cap, and screw the cap back on to the neck of the bottle.

That Is A Flower? (Cochliasanthus...This vine has the common names, corkscrew vine and snail vine, among others. These two names are rather suitable as the plant bloom is a bit reminiscent of either. However, the corkscrew vine and the snail vine are actually two different plants.

Hand Pollinating Vegetable PlantsIf your cucumbers and tomatoes are not setting fruit, it may be because there is not enough pollination. Bees usually do this, but you can do it yourself. Female flowers have the fruit behind them. Male flowers do not. You will need a small paint brush or Q-tip.

Photograph Your GardenI have gardened all my life. It has brought me much pleasure. Another dimension of pleasure was added when I began to photograph my gardens and plants. Pick Beans Often for a Great HarvestEven if you only have a few beans, make sure you pick them daily. The more you pick the beans, the more the plant will produce. The converse is also true; if you stop picking beans, your plant will stop producing.

Miracle Gro for Beautiful RosesI like to use Miracle Gro for roses. It is the best product on on the market as I found out with these rosebushes. My cats are able to get up onto them and get some shade.

Save Egg Shells for Planting TomatoesTo prevent blossom rot, I put a handful of egg shells in the hole with the tomato plant when setting them. This gives the tomatoes calcium and it works.
