Glazed Parsnips and CarrotsIf you haven't tried parsnips, they are delicious. They look like blond carrots. They are sweet, a little earthy and floral, and pair beautifully with carrots.
Homemade Whole Wheat PastaCombine flours. Mound on work surface or in bowl. Make well in center adding egg yolks, milk, oil and salt and blend with fork. Gradually draw flour from edge of well into center until all flour is incorporated.
Chicken Liver and Potato BakeAbout 1 hour before serving, in 12 inch skillet over medium heat, cook bacon until well browned. Place bacon to drain on paper towels. In hot drippings in skillet, cook chicken livers until browned, about 5 minutes, turning once.
Spiced Pineapple ChunksDrain pineapple chunks and to the syrup add remaining ingredients. Boil 15 minutes. Strain. Add pineapple and simmer 30 minutes.
Roast Beef and Barley SoupCold weather calls for soup, right? Right! A last minute cleanup soup I made last night turned out so good I am putting it in my recipe file.
Combine sugar and water in a pan and bring to a boil. Boil for 1 minute and immediately reduce heat. Simmer for 1 hour or until thickened. Remove

Blue Cheese Artichoke DipI highly recommend Marie's Chunky Blue Cheese dressing and Cara Mia Artichoke Hearts, both of which you should be able to be find in the produce section of your market.
So easy and so good! Mix all ingredients, add enough flour until stiff enough to roll out 1/2 inch thick. Cut out with donut cutter. Fry in hot oil til brown. Drain, roll in sugar.
Mixed Vegetable SaladMix together first 4 ingredients and add dressing. For dressing, cook until thick and mix with salad. Chill thoroughly. This will keep for several days.
Rock Critters for GardenThis is a project kids love to do - make rock critters for the garden or for indoor plants. For indoor plants, select some rocks (or gravel) of round or oblong shapes. Then the kids paint them, and add eyes and features.
Scrap Printer Paper Instead of Note PaperReuse scrap computer paper by tearing into quarters for note paper. Use the unprinted side for notes, shopping lists etc. Once you no longer need the note paper, shred it and add to your composter to make compost for your garden.
