Tips for keeping rabbits out of your garden. Soak a cotton ball in white distilled vinegar and place it in a 35 mm film container. Poke a hole in the top and place in your garden. Rabbits hate the smell. You will have to keep refreshing the cotton ball and if you have a large garden you might want to spread a few of these around.

Sprinkling black pepper around your lettuce will also work. Rabbits hate the smell of it. If it rains or you water, refresh the pepper.

I don't know if you have a cat that is allowed outside or if there are any neighborhood cats, but black pepper can be fatal to them.
