For any reader out there who enjoys mysteries as well as family life and quilt-making may I suggest Earlene Fowler's "Benni Harper" series. There are 13 of them, each named for a quilt pattern, and they just get better and better from number one to number 13. I'm on the last one now, and beginning to panic almost as all the characters have begun to feel like family. I've also learned a lot about the various quilt patterns, when and how they emerged into the history of our country. Excellent light reading. Mrs Fowler is a very gifted writer and her books hold my interest like no other author since John D. McDonald's Travis McGee series.
I am already "lonesome" for Benni Harper's family, and can't wait for "State Fair" to come out in paperback. I have trouble holding onto the hardbacks now or I'd have it ordered in a heartbeat.
Have you read any of Earlene Fowler's books (other than the Benni Harper series? I'm going to try them too hoping that her fantastic style of writing is evident in them as well.
I'm so glad to touch base with another reader in our group, Thank you for writing.
