We have a yearly Homestead Festival with a different theme each year. This year the theme is "Back to the 80s". I need float ideas. I am the Marketing Director at a Retirement Community called Liberty Village. Any fun ideas? I am stumped. Thanks.

Lori-
How about starting at your public library to see what publications they have about what your town or city was like in the 1800s.If you have a local newspaper, they might let you look at old editions. From the advertising, you could make a simple cardboard backdrop with "storefronts" and ads, Some of the ads and prices from those days are funny. You could also have some of the participants holding cardboard signs saying things like, "Give women the vote now!," or other issues of the day. Arianna

Rhino Records for 80's music complilations

Pick a theme for hair/clothes . . . .the band Culture Club? Such a distinct and SO VERY 80's look! Or Adam Ant's look. Both are very rag-tag and could be put together with thrift store finds (or your closet!)
