Rooting a Weeping Cherry Tree Cutting

A weeping cherry tree.I would like to root a 6 yr old weeping cherry tree and lilac cuttings. The cherry tree has a branch on one side of the tree. I would like to know if this branch can be rooted when cut. Also how do you root lilac bushes from branch trimmings?

dip the cuttings in a root starter product available at reputable gardening center. Some products have you soak the cuttings in water with the root starter until roots form and then plant.
