I have a Kenmore gas range that is eleven years old. The oven lights but will not heat up. Has anyone else had this problem?

If your oven has a pilot light, that could be out. If it is lit, it may be the thermocouple (a sensor that doesn't let the gas flow to the oven if it detects no pilot light lt) may be at fault.
Not hard for someone who is handy to replace.

I had that problem once before and the stove needed a new thermostat. Just a little gizmo that regulates the temp in the oven. It is also very inexpensive.

Sounds like you have an element or both burnt out. Should have a top and bottom one inside. Check for any sections that are missing sections out of it. Heating elements are around $30 each. If you need to pay someone to install them, it might be cheaper to replace stove.

It might be worth it to you to get a new oven. Ours cost about $175 to fix and the ignitor was the problem.

Have you remembered to check the fuses? A new element is easy to replace. Google can tell you how.
