I am looking for different quilt patterns for drunkards path. Has anyone ever made one of these out of denim?

The quilters cache has a ton of free patterns. Try them at www.quliterscache.com

Denim would be too heavy for this pattern as turning the curved portion under would be difficult. It is a pattern you have to "finger" to get the larger piece to fit into the smaller piece and use lots of pins. I would choose a lighter fabric which is hard enough to sew correctly without puckers. Sew slowly, removing the pins as you go, the larger piece goes on the bottom while you are sewing as the feed dogs will help take in the extra fabric. If you must make it from Demim, than use the pattern that you applique the top piece onto the bottom instead of sewing it seam to seam as usual. Patterns on Internet are plentiful, many variations available. Jill
