I don't believe in goody bags that many of my friend's give the kids who have attended a birthday party, but I do want to give the kids SOMETHING. Any cheap alternatives, preferably with a karate them?

Thanks,
Kris from Randolph, MA

Try CenturyMartialArts.com, they have some really great gift ideas, headbands, accessories. These would make the perfect gift and not just as party favors.

Ask to purchase some chinese food takeout containers from your local restaurant. They will be cheap. Have your child make a personalized thank you on the box with marker and include fortune cookies and some candy.

My son is also an avid young martial artist... There are a lot of cheap ideas on the website www.superfoots.com. They have headbands and a lot of little things for not a lot of money.

If you have a digital camera and printer, give them each a picture. If they will be wearing karate garb, get them to pose in a karate position. If not, make a headless cardboard karate guy or two (great decorations too, and let them pose their heads behind the cardboard statue for a picture.

Maybe Karate Headbands; you could purchase them, or make some and using a fabric markers or paints, put a saying on each one, such as "It's all about the Kicks", Foam Nunchaku's would be another idea (not sure how much these are though), www.karatesupply.com and www.karatedepot.com sells key chains made from karate belts for around $2 each.
