I was chairman for the Lionnette Christmas Float last year and our float fits in with your idea. I had a big sign which stated "Winterland Workout". I placed different workout machines - rowing machine, bicycle etc. and dressed the people using them in red and green. Ours was a night parade, so we put lights on all the equipment. It was a great float and we won first.

At one of our town's parades, a local gym had a float. They'd covered a big box (refrigerator size) with solid wrapping paper, had a kooky looking "Dr." This was his "time machine. In one side, send in an overweight lady, & out the other side send out a shapely woman. It was a big hit! They made their point!

Theme Idea: The Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future.

Have manniquens in varying degrees of weight-loss or show couch potato, treadmill, marathon.

Another idea is the say "Lift weights instead of carrying weight"

"Give the gift of Health"

Have the women who have lost the most weight or toned up the most muscle dress like elves in little outfits and have them on the float doing a stationery bicycle or something. :) Women will want to give themselves a gift of a gym membership for Christmas (or else go home and eat a dozen Christmas cookies!).

how about a twelve days of christmas theme. everyone can dress up as somthing from the song and you can have card board cut outs of the birds and other things in the song. make sure to have the music playing while the float goes by.
