Use any cookie that you like that softens when dunked in milk. It can be any flavor, any type, even sandwich cookies!
Whip 1 pint heavy whipping cream to stiff peaks in a cold bowl, adding powdered sugar to taste. You can add up to 1/2 teaspoons of vanilla, peppermint, or almond flavor, gradually.
Place a dollop of whipped cream on top of one cookie. Place another cookie on top and press down lightly, just enough to make a slight indentation in the whipped cream.
Top with a second cookie and repeat, making your cookie/whipped stack as high as you'd like one serving to be. (Usually 5 high for single cookies, 3 high for sandwich cookies.) Cover all sides and top of final cookie with whipped cream and refrigerate in a covered container for at least 2 hours.
Just before serving, you can drizzle with chocolate syrup, or maraschino cherry juice. Top with a maraschino cherry and serve. Feel free to use your imagination with toppings.
This can be a lovely Christmas dessert alternative to pie if you use one green and one red cherry on each.
If you do not have a covered container, use an oblong cake pan with foil or saran held aloft by a tall glass on in four corners
