I need tips on any ideas for an outdoor Birthday sleepover for 12 year olds. My daughter wants a Bounce House, do you think she is too old? I am putting a tent in the back yard for the sleepover.

Thanks,
Graci from Texas

Jumping Castle parties are awesome fun, it doesn't matter what age you are as long as you have a good castle.
Great ones include:
jumping stairs
slide
walls

I don't think she would be too old because that's something everyone can enjoy. When I had a bounce house, I had 28 YEAR OLDS jumping the thing is it would be fun with friends..

Well she does sound a little to old but why don't you try a water slide.

I don't think a bounce castle is too childish especially if you want to sleep in it. I am gonna ask my mom if I can do that but if not I will want to sleep out side in a tent but there's only one problem. I HAVE A POOL, there is no way I would be able to do that but you never know there is still plenty of room to put up a tent I might even have a whole outdoor theme like we have to survive in the wild. It sounds cool. Last year I went to the zoo it was so cool. I hope I could help where else to get advise for an almost 12 year old then an almost 12 year old!

I'm turning 12 In Sept. and I really want 2 have a boy/girl Party but I'm not sure whether very many of the boys would come or what my parents would think of it. I wouldn't want to have a bounce House but I do REALLY want to have a sleep over with all of my BFF's. Any Ideas?

Yea limos can be fun but what do you do with them? You could go to a hotel but that would be a waste of money to take a limo there! So what do you even do with it?

THE BEST IDEA 4 A 12 YEAR OLD'S BDAY PARTY!!!!Im 12 and what 12 year olds want is a really cool b-day party Try doing a surviver theme, for one relay Have people blind fold themsleves then have 2 teams and have them stick their face 1 by 1 in a tin with mushed up gram crackers(as sand), gummy worms and gummy spiders! the team who picked up the most candy worms wins (put them on a seperate plate when picked up!) the if they wind up with a spider in their plate then you take away a point!!!

I created a themed army party called mission impossible about a rocket that had been stolen and it was their mission to recover it. They all had to dress up like swat even the mums and dads who helped set it all up. They had to find clues around an assault course that I had hired for the afternoon collect money which was hidden in the clues.

Then with the money they collected from the clues they had to bribe a boat man to take them to an isle where they had to find more clues for the missing rocket. They then had to make a raft and sail it back to shore. This took me 3 months to prepare cost 200 pounds but was worth every moment and penny. Think outside of the box people.

OMG I totally agree. I might be a little younger than other girls posting. Im 11 but I have one like everytime I have a party and you know what, two of my friends copied! LOL! Anyway, I think once you are past 17 bounce houses shouldnt be an item anymore. But I DO NOT have anything against them at all! Love it all!

I had more than twenty friends that came. Yes and I got the best party for three years in a row! Im 14 and feel i should defend the bounce house. Sorry but serily! . So stop dissing the bounce house please! It makes me kinda sad. not to b rude r anything

Bounce houses are amazing! If your daughter wants one say sure. But if your really nice you will save the money for renting a limo for her 13th b-day! Thats what I'd want! Who agrees with me?

If the bouncy house thing is big enough, id say go for it. My birthday is coming up and i am going to have a family/boy girl party! Then the family and the guys will go home and the girls will stay the night. But if you do that have an awesome cake and decorations! But when the fam and the guys leave, get a camera and one craft like a picture on a pillow case! It will be awesome!

I'm 11 about to be 12 and bounce houses? Not the coolest party idea.
I might go to six flags but if that's not in your budget an easy thing to do is have a boy girl party. That's what I did last year. Still not a good idea? Then just have a few friends over and go to the movies, mall or bowl! It might sound like a loser party but my bff did it and we loved it!

Your daughter can have a bounce house but she should have a lot of other mature games, just so that there is one kiddie bounce house and lots of other cool things.

Well for my birthday I'm 12 going on to thirteen . What I'm doing is having a guys and girls party. We are going to go on this bus that takes us anywhere we want to go. First we're going to laser tag, then swimming, then dinner, and we're going to go paint balling too. We're gonna pig out and eat and dance all night and I cant wait. I'm already planning even though my birthday is in May next year.I just am too excited. I'm inviting all my girls and all my guys!

I think a bouncing castle is a great idea, but to make sure her friends don't think it's lame follow these steps:
1. get a BIG bounce castle
2. sleepover in the bounce castle
3. make sure bounce castle doesn't have any childish pictures on it (eg. barbie)

I'm turning twelve and I'm having a investigation as my birthday. no one knows it though. My friends are going to eat dinner, then they will be in my room talking and my moms going to try to talk to me. i go outside, and go to our guest house. we get a "Party Popper" and pretend it's a gun shot. then, my mom puts a lot of "clues" around, and puts the fake bullet on my fore-head. we put the fake blood around me and the people that I invited try to find me. once they find me, they have to have an investigation. then, once they finish the investigation, they write who they think the killer is on a piece of paper and the killer is in my cake! I'm so excited for my birthday party!

I think that you are never to old to jump in a bounce house. It may be a bad idea for girls that are aboyut 14 or 15 but for 12 and 13 year olds it is just fine. Ithink things like scavenger hunts are fun for outdoors. I do not have much ideas because i do not know what her and her friends are like. But my suggestion is just keep ot close to an out door theme if you have a big property. But with a small one you could just have fun with compotions like, have the girls dress up in goofy outfits, and then judge them in how well the walk down and how gooofy they are.Or have a pirate theme and give out fake gold coins. And during the night if someone says the word tresure, then the first person to catch them gets a piece of the other persons gold. And who ever has the most gold by the end of the night gets a prize.

No bounce houses are great i have them all the time. They mostly dont bounce though they either play tackle football inside or they just tackle each other. I also had a dunk tank for my birthday they'll love that if you get that to.

I'm turning 12 this year and I was going to rent from bounce house too! But I don't think she is too old for it. Alot of people around her age are going to Fairytale town and other child friendly places to renew their childhood. She could be starting a new trend. Having a problem deciding what's too old or too babiesh ,contact Taylor on tis website.

I think it is okay to have a bounce house, but then again I do think it is a little strange, not being mean or anything. And if you think that a bounce house is too young for a twelve year old, just talk to her about it and see if she really wants one. In my opinion though if she wants one, then you should be a good parent and let her have one.

I don't think you are ever too old for a Bounce House! A group I was part of just a year or two ago thru an outdoor event for kids and rented a bounce house. Towards the end of the day, we took turns watching the kids and jumping in it ourselves! (All adults age 25 & up!)

Also, as an idea for an outdoor party? It sounds like the perfect time to make Smores and tell ghost stories with flashlights! If you are looking for a craft to do at the party, let the girls decorate plain pillowcases with craft paints, etc. Or if you have a digital camera and printer, take a picture of the girls all together, print on transfer paper, and iron on each pillowcase for a party keepsake!

If you can find nice sized bounce house, I bet most any age person would have a fun time, especially during a sleep over. I see no problem with 12 year kids enjoying a bounce house at sleep over party.:)
