50s Sock Hop Party Ideas?

My mother Donna is turning 50 in April and we are throwing her a 50's sock-hop to celebrate. We will have costume contests and I will be singing "Oh Donna" and we will also have 50 songs playing all night long if you have any other ideas please contact me.

Sounds like you have some great ideas. Here are a few more:

Bubble gum for Bubble Blowing Contest. If you have a prize for the largest bubble you could have a tape of music from the 50s for the prize.

Six packs of bottle Coca-Cola (small ones) with a balloon bouquet attached for a table centerpiece.

Black and Turquoise or Black and Pink were very popular color combinations in the 50s.

We just did this for my brother's 50th. We gathered up all the pictures we could find, baby on up to teens, army, wedding and beyond and had a video made. It was inexpensive and both touching and hilarious.
