Include Basement Photos When Selling House

DH is getting ready to retire (again). He's almost 80. We are looking for a small house with basement and or garage workshop so that he can have space for his woodworking hobby.

We have looked at online ads which advertise a basement. There will be photos of everything, even hallways and attic pull down ladders, but no pics of the basement. The outside view will have a shot of the garage, if there is one. Nobody ever thinks to take pics of the basement.

Am I the only person on earth who would like to see basement pictures?

We looked for a new home for the last two years. In my experience, if there's no picture of the basement in an ad, it's not usually worth seeing. People who want to sell or rent out a house want you to see its good points. The houses we looked at that didn't have pictures of the basement often had water problems.

I think you should pitch your basement as an extended living area with possibilities and indicate square footage. By all means, include pix if they aren't a turn off for the potential buyers.
