Many sites offer a tab on their menu that is simply titled: Credit. With this option, you enter your SSN, and name and billing and things, and you place an order. You think you will receive your order soon and without paying yet, but unless you have a near to spotless credit record, you will receive a letter in the mail saying that due to your low credit status they will require you to pay a certain amount up front. Then they will process your order. This is true for many of those sites.
