My husband and I just got back from a trip to the west coast to attend our son's retirement from the Navy after 24 years, then on to our daughter's wedding as well as visiting friends and family. It was a two week trip and we needed to take lots of clothes and accessories with us. One thing I found most useful was to place my earrings in those mini zip bags that you can buy for next to nothing at any craft store. I then placed all the bags into a small make-up bag to keep them all together. That made it so easy to find what I needed when I needed it. I don't know why I never thought of it before.

I put bottles of lotions and other liquids in ziplock bags so that when they are in the airplane hold which doesn't have full pressurization, the lotion doesn't ooze out all over everything else in my cosmetic bag. Pre-ziplock bags that happened to me and What a Gooey Mess!

I always put my toilet articles, socks and other stuff in zip lock bags.I take extra ones to put my dirty clothes in.These are put in my luggage. If the bags are opened by the inspectors they can look though the bags and don't have to paw through my clothes.I also put all my coins and other metal items in a zip lock when I pass through the metal detectors. That way I don't have a bunch of coins and stuff to scoop up from the trays.Works well when there is a lot of folks behind you or you are in a hurry to get through the bottle necks.

I just got back from vacation and I had used my mini zip bags to put my vitamins and other non-prescription capsules in. This way they took up much less room than several plastic bottles would have and fit in small nooks and crannies in my bag.

Whenever we travel we take extra zip bags in all sizes. They always come in handy.

I read about a lady who sticks her earrings on her watch band to keep from losing them at night. Thought I'd repeat this tip.

GREAT IDEA!! Wish I had thought of that as I just returned from a trip and am in the process of untangling EVERYTHING and trying to find the mates. I am quite the jewerly nut and think this is a great idea for me! Thanks! Will go quick to the craft store and get a travel stash!
